FRIENDO'S ADVICE
We all have problems in our lives, spanning from the existential to the very mundane, and Friendo, the featureless sexless life-size puppet we use in many of our productions thinks friendo can help.
So we've compiled some of these deep questions in a column we're calling FRIENDO'S ADVICE.
My Dearest Friendo,
With Christmas fast approaching and the pandemic raging all around us, I like so many people have made the hard choice to forgo travelling home to see my family but instead will be staying at home to spend Christmas alone. LIke so many people this was a very hard choice but the safety of myself and others far outweighs anything else.
My question to you, how do I do this? Do you have any tips for Christmas alone? Do I decorate? Do I cook a big meal? I’m not really sure how to proceed?
Any advice would be marvelous.
Thank you and yuletide greetings to you and yours!
Alone and Safe

Dear Alone and Safe,
Holidays are always a sad affair for puppets. Without even touching upon the indignities we still suffer from Victorian "Punch and Judy" shows, for many centuries puppets have been purchased for children who don't know how to properly love or care for them, and they end up donated, or gathering dust, or confused in a Salvation Army bucket with several other toys who all think they're real people, and they all try to climb on each others' shoulders to escape but end up toppling over when the bucket gets knocked and just continue to live in an existential hell.
So make a donation to your local puppet theater, grab yourself a copy of The Velveteen Rabbit, and shed a tear for objects thoughtlessly imbued with the essence of life by humans.
I hope that helps, human!
Friendo
